Paddington Academy, West London
Date: August 2006 – July 2007
Project: Bulk Excavation, Foundations, Landscaping, Structures, Demolition, Paving, Roads
Project value: £1.2m
Kingsview undertook the role of contractor for one of Gleeson Building’s flagship projects in West London.
The project involved extensive excavation and levelling of the site to make construction of access roads and parking areas possible.
Works included extensive block paving, finishes to external spaces, landscaping and specialist finishes to the cast concrete staircases.
Additional works included construction of retaining walls, demolition of an existing electrical sub-station and the removal of materials contaminated with asbestos.
The site was adjacent to tight clusters of residential accommodation and busy roads. For this reason, special care was taken during construction to reduce noise, dust and fume emissions from plant and equipment.
